Kinda glad to see Lemeiux back with Lias. They had a really good chemistry in the preseason. If only Stinky was still here

I know people will be all over him if he does this. Can’t really blame him. He was the best player on his team last year and I could see how he would feel he is above Hartford.

Sorry Jan gotta take issue with the doesn’t show character part. I try to put what these guys do in real life situations and if it was myself.

The fact of the matter is, while in the AHL he is making what 90k a year In the minors thousands of miles from home. Or, he can be closer to home, probably make 1-2 million this season and be considered a star in the 2nd best league in the world.

I just think in a real life situation going to the KHL makes perfect sense. If I knew I would get called up by thanksgiving then maybe. It’s not even a money issue, he likely would get more money by playing in the KHL and then singing as a UFA like Dadonov or Gusev if it came down to it in a few years.

It could also be a bit of a negotiating ploy to get vk back up with the big club. Not really worried about it.

It’s 100% a negotiation ploy. I think the Russian stars are realizing that they have some leverage. They can easily get really good money back home. There’s no reason for any of these guys to just play in the minors. We all know that there is a 100% chance that if Shipachov came back, teams would line up for him.

If you aren't willing to work hard to adapt your game to the NHL style seems like a character issue if your 1st thought is to go home instead of working hard.

And we are basing this off a text which may or may not be true

At least as of yesterday afternoon, I'd been told there had been no discussion regarding this subject between Kravtsov camp and NYR.

We don’t know that he isn’t working hard. Just imagine if the situation was reversed and the KHL was the premier league. I don’t think like Kreider would accept being in the KHL minors making peanuts thousands of miles away from home when he could cone back here and make a couple million. That’s these guys mindset. I honestly don’t blame them.

I don't blame them at all. I just think it is a character issue. You take someone like Kucherov whose mindset was to work his ass off everyday to get to the NHL, didn't matter if he was in the minors or what. His ultimate goal was to get to the NHL.

I get the logic but you also can't really think that you're just going to waltz over to the other side of the world as a 19yo and walk on to a team in the top professional league in the world. Not to say he's not working hard or anything, but it's not like he's a 25yo that established himself as a bonafide star in the KHL before coming over.

Those aren’t equivalent situations. Kucherov went to juniors before his time in the AHL. All Kravtsov knows is carrying a professional team on his back where he literally was their best player by a good margin. Even if you think he’s mistaken, you can understand why he would have a chip on his shoulder.

shouldnt that be all the more reason to bear down and do everything you can to get back up here? especially when there's a literal defenseman playing on one of the wing spots?

aka - be a professional
